The
Barbados International Film Festival (hereinafter call ‘BIFF’ )
will be held from December 3rd
to 7th, 2008. The spirit
and aim of the festival is to develop the film industry
in Barbados and the Caribbean region and capture the
imagination of the motion picture industry of the world.
1. The Management of BIFF invites films that will be screened in competition and out of competition. This section will include retrospectives distinguished by their artistic or historical importance.
2. A Grand Jury has been specially nominated by the Festival Management to showcase films in the competitive section
All films shall comply with the following criteria:

They must have been finished 24 months preceding the Festival. |

Films must not have been presented in Barbados or on the Internet prior to the Festival. |
 |
Films must be spoken in English or contain English subtitles. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles or without supplementary printed translations will be automatically disqualified. |

Films must be DVD or VHS preview tapes. |

BIFF has the sole discretion in relation to the admission of visitors to the Festival (including but not limited to determining any admission requirements or procedures). BIFF acknowledges that the film maker has given no commitment or guarantee as regards the number of visitors to the festival and the results of the festival and agrees that it has no claim against the management of BIFF or its agents or representatives in this connection. |

The film maker acknowledges and agrees that BIFF shall not be responsible for any losses or damages that the film maker business may suffer and the management of BIFF has made no warranties of any kind, express or implied for services to be provided here under. The BIFF hereby disclaims any warranty or merchant ability or fitness for any particular purpose. |

The film maker further acknowledges and agrees that BIFF shall not be responsible for any system malfunctions or failure of telecommunications or other electronic communications at the screening Venue which is beyond BIFF's control. |

BIFF
reserves the right to interpret,alter and amend
any of these conditions and to issue additional
rules and regulations at any time it considers
necessary for an orderly operation of the festival.
The amended conditions and the additional rules
and regulations shall become effective immediately
upon posting of the same on BIFF's web site at
http://www.barbadosfilmfestival.com. |
RETURN OF ENTRIES
Entries submitted on videotape WILL NOT be returned unless a separate fee is received at the time of entry. Every reasonable effort will be made to protect the films and tapes from damage or loss, but the Festival, its management, or Juries will not assume liability for damage or loss.
